You may be suffering from autointoxication. This a partial list of symptoms given by Rasayana Retreat:
- allergy or intolerance to certain foods
- bad breath and foul-smelling gas and stools
- constipation, diarrhea, sluggish elimination, irregular bowel movements
- dark circles under the eyes
- frequent congestion, colds, flu
- frequent mood swings
- lower back pain
- and the list goes on!
Before you run to your nearest physician, it simply means you live a modern lifestyle. Consuming processed foods, not enough fruits and vegetables, too much meat, artificial salts and preservatives are the culprits. Autointoxication refers to “a process whereby you are poisoned by substances produced by your own body as a result of inadequate digestion and elimination.” Basically, with all the junk you put into your body living a typical, hectic life, your body has trouble coping and the result is you feel like crap.
When I read the brochure, I was skeptical. It seemed a bit new agey and the list of symptoms was so long that anyone would identify themselves as a victim of autointoxification. A cousin of mine convinced me to try the “treatment,” which she had done twice before. The entire process sounded like torture, but I’ve been on a health kick and was weak to her coaxing. In a series of posts, I will describe the cleansing program and my experiences at the Rasayana Retreat.
